EXTRA CREDIT

1. Explain what happened to the man that was killed by the subway and how the photographer was able to take the photo.
This man was murdered in the subway because someone pushed him onto the tracks, and when the photographer saw it, decided to take your camera and start taking pictures of the man on the tracks about to die because the subway was coming, supposedly the photographer took the photos while trying to warn the driver of the subway was about to crush a man, either way it was very late to the subway stop.

2. Why did the photographer say he took the photo? I guess he thought something extraordinary, besides that he tried to warn the driver, with the flash of his camera.

3. Do you think the photographer should have taken the photo? In my opinion I do not, I guess first and foremost is to help other people, I think he must do everything possible to help this man.

4. Do you think the photographer did the best thing he could have done in this situation? Why or why not? Frankly not the photographer did nothing, just take pictures and the situation was not to take photos.

5. Do you agree or disagree with the decision to run the photo on the front page of the New York Post? Explain why or why not.I disagree, I think it's insensitive. even if, a different photo or extraordinary.

6. What is more important to a photojournalist, capturing images of life as it happens or stopping bad things from happening? Why or why not? Perhaps a photographer is more important to capture pictures of things that happen in everyday life, but in my opinion I think if in the hands of someone helping a person who is about to die, would cease to be a photographer and would be a person then would not let bad things to happen, or at least would help not happen.

7. Do you think it is ever ethically acceptable for a photographer to involve himself/herself in a situation that he or she photographs? Explain why or why not.
no, I think sometimes it is not ethically acceptable, but depending on the case where you are, because if it is a very exaggerated as this is unethical.

8. Should photojournalists always avoid influencing events as they happen? Explain your answer.
I guess that's the job of a photojournalist, if you see it that way is not so bad, but I think sometimes not due to influence both the things that happen, I mean it's okay to have evidence of things that pass, but if you are in the place of the photographer and you like to keep something happens, why they it does not happen help?

9. After reading the responses from the professional photographers, what stands out as the most appropriate response for a photographer to this situation.
That no one can know how things really happened, do not know if the photographer was able to help the man, and we can not say anything or judge the photographer because we did not we were in that moment, then it be that what the state did there well maybe not, it's hard to know.

Semester Review

Here's Lisa and her friend Amy at home resting after a day of much practice for the final competition of gymnastics.
This is a magnificent float this festival in Brazil, this float was the best and the most frequently mentioned throughout the festival.

1. Rule of thirds Imagine that your picture is divided into 9 squares and you have to take the picture in any of the four parts where the lines intersect.
2. Balancing Elements when you put an item out of the center to make the picture better and more balanced.
3. Leading Lines are lines in a photograph leading to the main object making the picture look better.
4. Symmetry and Patterns (repetition)A symmetrical shot with strong composition and a good point of interest can lead to a striking image, when a photo has symmetry on both sides.
5. Viewpoint  Is the position or the way you take a photo, is the perspective of how you see it.
6. Background when the background of the photo is all alone and the picture focuses on the main subject. , in other words need to be not busy behind your main subject.
7. Create depth The depth of field that you select when taking an image will drastically impact the composition of an image. It can isolate a subject from its background and foreground (when using a shallow depth of field) or it can put the same subject in context by revealing it’s surrounds with a larger depth of field.
8. Framing Things around your main subject, creating a frame effect.
9. Cropping Is when you cut a part of the picture to focus more to the main object.
10. Mergers and avoiding them When an object that takes away attention, to the main object.

Aperture The word aperture simply meaning an 'opening' in common usage. The same meaning applies in photography, where the opening is a specific mechanism contained within the lens. The aperture is formed by a set of of thin, interlocking metal blades called the iris. These blades can be adjusted to increase/decrease the size of the aperture. The shape of the opening is roughly circular, and it is the area through which light passes as it is focused by the lens.

Shutter Speed the shutter speed is the unit of measurement which determines how long shutter remains
open as the picture is taken. The slower the shutter speed, the longer the exposure time. The shutter speed and aperture together control the total amount of light reaching the sensor. Shutter speeds are expressed in seconds or fractions of a second. For example 2, 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000, 1/2000, 1/4000, 1/8000. Each speed increment halves the amount of light.

ISO ISO is the level of sensitivity of your camera to available light. The lower the ISO number, the less sensitive it is to the light, while a higher ISO number increases the sensitivity of your camera. ex- ISO-200 ISO-3200

explain how to get to your folder on the server and how you get there.
First I have to go to journalism drive icon, I click it, and put my username and password, after open another window and entered j photo, and then I'm gonna period 5, and find my name and that's how I go to my folder.

explain the ethics of manipulating photos in photoshop and what is acceptable and what is not acceptable. Is acceptable to change the colors, brightness, contrast, and all those things that do not affect ethically, but you do not completely change the look of the photo or the people who appear in it.

Environmental Portrait executed in the subjects usual environment such as their home or workplace.
Self A photo where just you and you are the main subject.
Casual Pictures of groups of people or simple things.

 Exposure
In photography, exposure is the amount of light allowed to fall on each area unit of a photographic medium (photographic film or image sensor) during the process of taking a photograph. Exposure is measured in lux seconds, and can be computed from exposure value (EV) and scene luminance in a specified region. Exposure is the amount of light that you allow to hit an object or area in a photograph. This can convey a certain message or mood in one's picture.

Depth of Field The zone, or range of distances, within a scene that will record as sharp ... It is one of the most creative and profound effects available to photographers.

Focal Length. The focal length of an optical system is a measure of how strongly the system converges or diverges light. For an optical system in air, it is the distance over which initially collimated rays are brought to a focus. A system with a shorter focal length has greater optical power than one with a long focal length; that is, it bends the rays more strongly, bringing them to a focus in a shorter distance.

Lytro warm-up & Ethics in Fashion photography

  Lytro Warm-Up

1. What did you see happen when you clicked on the photo? when I click on the picture moves, it blurs into certain areas and if it has any effect changes.

2. How does this new camera work? This camera lets you capture photos and also do whatever you want with them, you can change view photo and play with different perspectives, this camera lets you create photos exactly the perspective you want.

3. What do you think a photographer would have to know about to take this kind of photo (remember its a point-and-shoot, so its full manual mode, what do you need to know about)I think what the photographer had to know is on the focus of the camera.

 4. Is it worth the money?I think so, worth spending the money, because besides that is not very expensive, you can do whatever you want with your photos, that I personally still prefer a normal camera, but this is still good I think it's a little easier to use.

FASHION

1. List the changes that were made to the model's face in the computer. (Look carefully)
They changed the lips, neck, hair, eyes, face shape and some color on the face

2. Is it ethically acceptable to change a person's appearance like this in a photo? Why or why not?
In my opinion I think it is acceptable in some cases, in this case benefits the makeup company, but deceives people, the person who came at first did not stand to the one in the photo because it changed all features partly wrong, because sometimes should put the natural beauty, but it is a makeup model person then the picture has to give the impression of perfection, and it may be acceptable to them and to the people who run that type business of fashion.

3. Are there circumstances in which it would be more ethically wrong to do this type of manipulation?Yes, in many cases this could be more ethically wrong, for example in photojournalism.

4. What types of changes are OK, and what aren't?I think that the kinds of changes that are good should be more simple, because there are some who seriously change the real picture completely and I think that's not the idea, fashionable cases I think there is such a problem, as it would in other photos.

5. Explain what you think the differences are between fashion photography and Photojournalism. fashion photography can be manipulated without bad consequences for it, photo journalistic images can get to make a very big problem if manipulated, so it is journalism that can not exaggerate or invent things that actually happen.

6. What relationship does each type of photography have to reality, and how does this affect the ethical practice of each?Fashion photography I think is very unreal because it is fashionable, and for many people means not affect much perfection and ethically, photojournalism is totally in reality, if you change it you might have a lot of problems, because it is not ethical.

Self Portrait and Portraits Part II

Think about your motivation and emotions: Blankly staring at the camera rarely gets good results. Be silly, don’t be afraid to over-act. The worst that can happen is that you fill up your memory card with useless photos; but you might also find yourself with a proper gold-nugget of a self portrait.

Use your imagination! A self-portrait can reveal a lot about you, by including props and even other people that are meaningful in your life. If you've never attempted to shoot a self-portrait, expand your creative horizons and give it a try.

A self-portrait doesn't have to be of your face—the image of two hands holding a camera says a lot about the photographer who shot his own portrait. You can also aim the camera down your body from eye level. I once took a photo of my own feet in hiking shoes, hanging over the edge of a rocky outcropping in a scenic spot (if you try something like this, just make sure you're in a safe place that you won't fall from). A picture like this will say a lot about your activities and surroundings.

“Environmental portrait”

I really liked the atmosphere of the photos because the photographer managed to capture all around, plus they are very good and colorful.

 “photography self portrait”
Creative 365 Day Self Portrait Project by a 17 Year Old Photographer self1 mini

These pictures are very good, I really liked the idea of the photographer to photograph himself, the photos are very original and express many things when you see them.

 “casual portrait”

I like these pictures because they are simple and casual photos, but with a different meaning I think that the simpler a photo will be more significant.

American Soldier slide show and captions

 A. I think the MOST powerful photo to me is this one is this image because it looks like the hug shows all the emotion and happiness  his father to see him after that had not seen and also seen the face of his mother and their friends who are happy to see him

Abandoned Theme Parks

the park that I'd like to visit to take photos is Six Flags New Orleans, I think is a very interesting place to take photos, it's like a horror movie, I think it would come out a very original photos of that place, in that park I sure I could make a zombie movie, because it has some terrifying scenarios and extraordinary alike could take great pictures there.

Unusual places I think would be of interest to photographers
  • Andes mountains
  • masai mara kenya
  • cataratas Victoria(cataracts victoria)
  • hangzhou west lake
  • jaipur pink city
  • mount fuji
  • rovaniemi northern lights
  • castillo de loira francia(castle of lora france)
  • bora bora island
  • prague castle
  • capadocia

Mount fuji

I really liked that place to take pictures because besides it's natural, I think it is very different interesting and fun, I think the photos might be taken there would be great, because this place is beautiful, plus there are some very interesting things to around then I think that could go very good photos in different perspectives, so all would be original.

Tell me what it would take for you to go and take photos at your location. What would you need as far as equipment goes, travel plans, expenses you might encounter and what laws you would have to take into consideration to take photos at your spot.
I would need a camera of course maybe different lenses and different equipment depending on the quality you want in my pictures, money to buy tickets to get to Japan and then something to transport me and being there, time and money for this in that place, I think if you have to make a long trip so I have to take professional photos and have a creative eye to change the perspective of the photos and make them look custom and original.

These three guys have a party in your swimming pool but literally have the party in the swimming pool, they want fun then decided to try something different and are now enjoying their extraordinary party, your party could not last long because they endured so long without breathing, so they decided to go out for some fresh air.

Balls on Balls. Louis loves to do crazy things and different is happening right now on a fun afternoon in bowling, because I had fun with it at home so he decided to leave for a while, he has a very big imagination so he decided to make a vertical row bowling ball, this was somewhat surprising and is happy now because besides bowling fun, did something very different and great.

Great Black and White Photographers part 3:

1.) What first caught your eye while looking at your photographers photos? Is there something in particular about their photos that made you want to choose them? something that made me choose that photographer is taking pictures of the World War II.

I see children holding hands walking in a forest.
I smell I smell the scent of the plants and the trees of the forest
I hear the sound of birds, the movement of the trees and laughing children.
I taste air and nature.
I feel fresh air in the forest.

I see night  through trees of Pittsburgh
I smell the trees and the city
I hear the sound of cars
I taste the wind of the city, I can also taste a coffee.
I feel the air of the city and civilization of the city.

I would like to create posters or blogs so I think it might be easier to show others that I chose the photographer, I think that would be good for everyone to see my thoughts on the photographer.

Academic Shoot reflection

1. What challenges did you encounter while trying to get the photos following the rules I set out for you? The challenges I found is that it is difficult to follow the rules of photography because the photos we take are spontaneous and that makes it harder besides that not much time and is not very comfortable interrupting classes, because sometimes people feel uncomfortable.

2. What technical aspects of photography or the assignment in general (focus, framing, holding the camera, etc.) did you find yourself thinking about the most? Provide a specific example of what you did to do this correctly. I think that I did the best aspects are the focus and hold the camera.

3. If you could do the assignment again, what would you do differently now that you know some basic rules of photography?I would take the most close and using more rules

4. What things would you do the same? I liked as some photos I think would do the same in focus.

5. When you go out with your next set of prompts, which rule do you think will be the easiest to achieve? Simplicity, lines, balance, rule of third and frame.

6. Which rule do you think will be the hardest to capture? avoiding mergers and balance.
